CareerConnect, one of the best K12 career readiness programs in the country, wanted to determine their best strategy to recruit more students and organizational partners to the program.

Desklight worked with Denver Public Schools administrators, teachers, and community business partners to conduct user research that looked at advocacy as a means to streamline student pathways to career exposure and employment opportunities. The team developed in-school and organizational toolkit strategies that simplified messaging and leveraged real student stories as a means to sustain engagement of students, business partners, and administrative advocates.

With the distribution of new modular pathway information graphics for schools, we expect that school audiences will now understand the impact and opportunity CareerConnect represents with more clarity and conviction. In the future, we hope to build a toolkit for prospective business and organizational partners to help them understand the value exchange of their partnership, including how their investment of time, apprenticeship, and funds generate immediate and downstream ROI such as the development of a candidate pool of future employees and cost-effective billable employees today. When you connect the right student to the right employer, everyone wins.
